Formed in 1996, The GW Pitches are proud to be the first all-female a cappella group at The George Washington University, and the champions of GW’s Battle of the A Cappellas 2017. This entirely student-run organization is a tight-knit family composed of women with a variety of talents, interests, and backgrounds. The Pitches are very active in D.C. and GW communities, and they are very excited to be one of the chosen acts to perform at the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on April 14th. You can catch them singing in their fall or spring concerts, putting on gigs, producing their biennial album, or appearing on Voice of America. The United Nations Foundation has even referred to them as “The Real Pitch Perfect”. Their repertoire ranges from classic artists like Madonna and Michael Jackson, to modern music of varying genres, including (but definitely not limited to) Lorde, Haim, Florence and the Machine, Alt-J, and Sia. The GW Pitches love music, performance, sour gummy worms, and most importantly, each other.
